The soul reveals the beauty of the body. Polished silver, a heart of ebony or agate, a complex mixture of features. The features mix, the souls appear, each with their own character.
Then comes the blacksmith’s last touch, the engraving. It spins, turns and drills the silver with the precise movement of the blacksmith’s hands. Each engraving is a movement, every piece represents a thousand movements. When you touch the engraving you can feel the hands of the blacksmith, the straw-clay atelier, the surrounding desert. The piece of jewellery is created, and worn. A union is made between the sand of the Sahara and your skin. |
